Our unique self-guiding CPR course and First Aid course are a cost-effective, time-saving alternative for those individuals who need to learn the fundamentals of Basic Life Support but whose schedules may not permit lengthy lectures and expensive instructors. Each of our step-by-step CPR and First Aid lessons are thoroughly explained with minimal technical jargon and include a helpful quick review section. A brief quiz will recap everything you learned and will give you the confidence you'll need to take appropriate course of action should an emergency arise.

We offer CPR Certification and First Aid Certification and upon successful CPR course or First Aid course completion you may order a professional, full-color wall certificate which can be framed for display or a conveniently sized wallet card to accompany you at all times. FirstAidWeb Inc. CPR certification and First Aid certification are issued in exclusive partnership with National Health and Safety Foundation^® and are valid for 2 years from date of issue.

All Basic Life Support (BLS) procedures demonstrated in this free course adhere to the most recent American Red Cross^® and American Heart Association/ILCOR Guidelines (October 18, 2010) and are intended to provide the student with the cognitive skills needed to administer CPR and First Aid in case of an emergency.

1. Who should take this course?
   Our online CPR and Basic First Aid courses are designed to accommodate those people wishing to learn Basic Life Support but whose schedules may not permit lengthy classes and expensive one-on-one training sessions. Individuals in health-related fields, care-providers for children or the elderly and people involved with athletics will especially benefit from the cognitive skills gained in our courses, but anyone who wishes to be prepared for an emergency situation is welcome to participate.

   
    

2. Are CPR and BFA difficult to learn?
   BLS consists of knowledge and skills, both of which can be learned by almost any able-bodied person, adult or teenager. It is important, however, to pay close attention to the specifics of all instructions in the course.

   
    

3. Can I be sued if I perform CPR incorrectly?
   In most states private citizens are protected by the Good Samaritan Law which states, in general terms, that unless you are a professional physician and have demonstrated gross negligence while performing rescue efforts, you may not be sued by the victim.

   
    

4. Okay, I want to learn CPR and First Aid... but wouldn't I be better off taking a class from my local American Red Cross office?
   Our online training courses adhere to the established standards and generally accepted guidelines as the courses conducted by American Red Cross^® and the American Heart Association^®. But since the internet is an interactive medium which is available to students any time of day or night, our online course has the unique advantage of schedule flexibility not found anywhere else. And because we don't have the extensive overhead and staff of other organizations, we can maintain the cost of certification to a fraction of what you'd pay elsewhere.

   
    

5. Can I take your online course instead of taking an in-person class?
   Our courses are designed for those people who want to learn CPR and BFA but may not wish to spend a lot of time or money to do so, and cover the same fundamentals and teach cognitive skills as the more expensive and lengthy classes offered by American Red Cross^® and The American Heart Association^® as well as numerous private schools.

   
    

6. What is the cost of your course?
   Zero... zilch... zip... nothing... Our CPR and Basic First Aid courses are available to anyone interested in learning or brushing up on BLS procedures at no charge. Please remember that if you are ordering certificates for students other than yourself, you must provide us with each student's name as it will appear on the certificate.

   
    

7. What happens once I've taken your online course?
   First, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that should an emergency arise you will have the confidence and the basic skills necessary to act quickly, appropriately and effectively. Second, you may order a personalized certificate of course completion and wallet card issued exclusively by www.firstaidweb.com and The National Health and Safety Foundation^®.

   
    

8. When does the certificate expire?
   In accordance with generally accepted standards dictate that each student is re-certified every 12 months but no less frequently than at 24-month intervals, our certification is valid for 2 years from date of issue.

10. Can I skip the course and simply order a certificate and a wallet card?
    Our goal at www.firstaidweb.com is to provide a valuable service for our visitors, not to police their intent. Although we can't stop you from proceeding to certification without studying the lessons or taking the quiz, ultimately you would only be doing great disservice to yourself and those close to you. So even if you are already familiar with CPR and First Aid , reading our material will serve as an excellent refresher course and it will only take a few hours. Please read our certification terms for further details.

     

11. I'm a licensed day-care provider and need to keep my CPR and First Aid certification current. Is your certification accepted by my state's Licensing Board?
    Certification requirements vary drastically not just from state to state but sometimes even within an individual state, from county to county. Most certification boards and governing bodies have arcane and sometimes arbitrary CPR/BFA standards many of which were established prior to on-line courses becoming a legitimate alternative to in-person lectures. Although taking a refresher course with us could not hurt (and is free), we suggest that you check your locally applicable municipal and state regulations to ensure that our course and certification are approved for your specific needs.

    
     

12. How long does it take to receive my certificate and wallet card?
    As our goal is to save you not just money but time as well, we understand that sometimes our clients need their certificates as soon as possible. You may download your certification instantly or have it sent by First Class Mail for an additional fee of $4.95 which will be shipped within 3-5 business days.

14. Can my certificate or wallet card be customized?
    We make every effort to accommodate the needs of our clients and therefore provide limited printing customizations at no additional charge. If your certification calls for specific wording such as "Child CPR" or "Infant CPR", simply alert us by email at the time of your order.
