A Variety of Training Options

Our company (Safety MD, LLC) has been in business since 2008 and offers a variety of in person, instructor led or computer based training options.

  • On-site classes. From 1/2 to 3 days we come to your facility, review your shipping procedures and packaging and use this information to customize an in-person class. Usually most cost effective with 6 or more people, this option is available anywhere in the world. We have taught these classes throughout the US.

  • Instructor-led webinars. We customize materials for you based on the product you ship. It's the same type of content as an in-person class except that you can email us photos of your packaging and other supporting in formation. Typical multi-modal webinar for a single product or two is around 4 hours. Most cost effective when you have 4 or more people.

  • Computer based training (CBT) we have over 50 programs and 100 courses on a variety of Dangerous Goods topics. Courses range from $150 to $295 per person, no minimum. The courses can be taken at any time and you have 3 months to complete the program and the exam(s). We to offer multiple student discounts for 10 or more students enrolling at one time.

Course Overview

We offer the choice between an OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher and an OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Refresher (for those who already have the initial OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor training).

While the OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Refresher is different than the OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Refresher, students are NOT required to take both.

Each refresher course comes with an Adobe PDF certificate that can be downloaded, saved, or printed as many times as needed.

For those students who are not required to take the full OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER course, we offer an OSHA 24 Hour HAZWOPER course that can be taken entirely online. Our 24 Hour HAZWOPER training course has an up to date curriculum, many photos, and helpful links to other great sources of useful information.

Our Online OSHA 24 Hour HAZWOPER course can be taken with the OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor (Initial) Training as a package deal as described below.

While the 24 Hour HAZWOPER course gives students a thorough overview to the equipment that is available to HAZWOPER workers, it does not cover it in the same detail as the 40-hour training, nor does it require any hands-on training.

Students that have taken the 24 Hour HAZWOPER course can upgrade to the 40 Hour HAZWOPER level by taking an additional 16 hours of training. This can be accomplished by taking the 16 Hour HAZWOPER Upgrade. Also, there is no time limit on when the additional 16 hours of training can be added to the 24 hours of initial training.

All of our courses are updated regularly and include many photos, helpful links to other great sources of useful information, and interactive quizzes that check your progress along the way.

For those students who are looking to take the OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER training course from their computer via the internet, we offer a course that can be completed entirely online.

Instead of hands-on training, students are shown over 50 short video clips as if they were at the 8-hour hands-on session. These video clips are required viewing by each participant.

The video clips demonstrate HAZWOPER equipment in great detail and students have the advantage to review the videos over and over as needed during their course.

Our Online OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER course can be taken with the OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor (Initial) Training as a package deal as described below.

Most users select the 40 Hour HAZWOPER online option for their training, simply because they still find a need for on-site specific equipment training, even after attending a classroom session. This is because the equipment we use and instruct on in our classroom training may not be the exact equipment that the user will be using as part of their job.

It should be noted, however, that the 40 Hour HAZWOPER online training does not allow students the practical experience and ability to handle the tools and equipment that are available to the HAZWOPER worker.

Students that should take this HAZWOPER training entirely online are those workers that, while requiring an OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification, will not realistically use any of this equipment on any worksite, or those workers who will use this equipment, but are given follow up instruction with on-site specific equipment training that is conducted by the employer.

It should also be noted that a worker who has taken the OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER entirely online may warrant more training if, in the future, they are required to use specialized equipment.

Taking the training online and having training on-site by the employer is really the best option as it provides the best of both situations.

We also offer the OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Combo course that includes hands-on training as an option.

All of our courses are updated regularly and include many photos, helpful links to other great sources of useful information, and interactive quizzes that check your progress along the way.
